High Blood Pressure, also known as the silent killer is more common than you think. According to the CDC, nearly half of the adults in the U.S. have high blood pressure, which equals 119.9 million adults in the United States alone (CDC, 2025).

While high blood pressure can be managed with lifestyle changes,  such as diet and exercise; this is not as easy as it sounds.

In the U.S., many of our foods contain high sodium, which can be hidden in the items that makes our shelved foods last longer. Therefore,  when we make those diet changes,  we need to be aware of the "not so obvious" hidden sources of sodium, i.e. canned goods.

High Blood Pressure can lead to kidney disease, increased risk of stroke, heart and eye disease and much more!

Speak to your healthcare provider to develop a plan that works for you and your family to limit your salt/sodium intake.  If you are in need of a healthcare provider, book your appointment at Hemphillhealthandwellness.com
